These are my FAQ's. I hope this helps answer some of your questions.

What is Drop-In Care? Think of it as free time off, a permission slip to do parenty things, A three or four hour breather... A Parent’s Dream Come True! In reality, I'm a reasonably priced, professional childminding service; For your kids it's pure and simple fun.

Does Drop-in really mean Drop-in? No, not if you mean arriving right at the moment you need care to begin (unless it is an emergency)...  Reservations for Hourly care can be made anytime from 7 days in advance down to the day you are seeking care. Most families give me at least 24 hours notice, but I have taken children with very little notice. I have a limit of 4 children at anytime, and I keep a waiting list in case of cancellations.

What does my payment cover? Along with quality care, your payment covers: Healthy Snacks/meals, Crafts & Toys, utilities, taxes and a whole lot more.

What openings do you have? Do you accept school age? I can legally have up to 5 children in my home at any time, however I rarely take more than 3 or 4 many unless there are siblings or special event. Services are geared towards children under 24 months except for evenings.

Why must I fill out all theses forms if I am just going out for errands? I run a state legal, family home; It doesn't matter if I have your child 3 hours a month or 30 hours a week; I must keep all your child's info in my files in case an emergency should happen ... Parents who decide not to give me all the required paperwork will be denied care.

How can I make a reservation for drop-off service? Reservations are made over the phone or in person up to 7 days in advance. Pre-Payment will be credited towards time requested, but will not be refunded for no shows or last minute cancellations as I am not always able to refill the slot on short notice. There are no standing reservations either; If you want care every Saturday morning from 6-11am, then you must reserve that block as early as possible every time.

Can I pay by check or does it always have to be cash? I accept Cash or payments thru PayPal; cash gives me the option of a quick trip to the market to pick-up items like veggies or organic milk if I run out. It also saves everyone from the headaches a bounced check can cause. Families that contract Full time care have the option of paying by Check only after they have been here at least a month.

I can't afford your fees?  Families who have used my services find that my fees are more than reasonable (Newborn spaces are very hard to find). Contracted parents that pay by the month receive a 5% discount as long as they pay by the 1st of each month.

Do you give sibling discounts? I do not offer sibling discounts because I have a limited amount of spaces and it does not cost any less to feed or take care of 2 siblings than it does for 2 children from separate families...

Remember, not only am I care for a very small group. I can provide more personalized attention than a big daycare home/center ever could and I serve healthy organic snacks, not junk food. I believe that you get what you pay for... Aren't the benefits to your child worth the expense?

What happens if I can't make my initial "Get to know you" meeting? Please call and reschedule if you know you can't make your appointment. After a family has one (1) no show/no call, I will call and reschedule your appointment as a courtesy. After a 2nd no show/no call services will no longer be available to that family.

What if my child is sick? Keep your child at home and notify me ASAP. The best way to prevent the spread of infection is by limiting contact. A child should not be in care if he or she has any of the following:

  • An elevated temperature above 100.5 degrees in the last 24 hrs
  • Severe nasal and chest congestion
  • A sore throat
  • Diarrhea or Vomiting
  • Severe coughing
  • Red, watery eyes
  • Undiagnosed rash
  • Evidence of flu or other communicable disease such as: strep throat, impetigo, chicken pox, conjunctivitis (pink eye), scabies, ring worm, or pediculosis (head lice)
  • Consistently runny nose or nasal discharge that is not clear
